Screw for bobbin case for longarm
I noticed yesterday that the screw behind the tension screw on my Baby Lock Crown Jewel longarm bobbin case has come out. This is the same machine as the HQ Avante. It still sews well. I have searched everywhere even with a magnet and then called the dealer who said you have to buy a whole new bobbin case for $130! She tried a screw from an inexpensive bobbin case in her shop and said that the threads on the screw did not match.
Does anyone have any ideas of where I could find such a screw? The company apparantly does not sell just one screw. And they want you to go through a dealer.

That is very expensive for a bobbin case. I just paid $39 for a new bobbin case for my Innova. I've also purchased bobbin cases on eBay that worked fine. You might look for another bobbin case there. $130 is a total rip-off IMHO.

I suggest you call some dealer that might have replaced one and they might have a screw laying around. I needed a part for my longarm and found a dealer that had just the right piece without purchasing the whole unit and all I had to do was pay postage. Good Luck!

Thanks to all of you. I finally decided to buy another bobbin case when I found one for a little less. I will take that to a hardware and/or jewelry store and try to find another screw to match the one from the new case. I have been told that it is good to keep a backup case on hand. Meanwhile, I have been sewing without the screw in the case and it is working. I am just worried that if something in the case moves, I could damage my machine.
