Default Help with Blaze (Hunter's) Orange

After searching and searching, I finally checked with a LQS and was told that there isn't a single manufacturer that carries Blaze (Hunter's) Orange in 100% Quilting Cotton.

My grandson is asking for a Camo and Orange quilt for graduation next year, and although, I've been able to locate Realtree or Mossy Oak Camo fabric, I haven't been able to locate the orange. Today, I did locate the orange in a denim, and on ebay another board member located a cotton. However, it is "painted" orange and not orange threads - per the description.

I'm sure some of you have have experienced the same situation - looking for the orange. What did you use? Do you remember the Manufacturer/color name?

I'd sure appreciate all the help you can offer.

What about using an orange Kona cotton? Seems to me they have a couple to choose from. It probably won't be an exact match, but after you wash that orange knit hat a bunch of times, it's not officially blaze orange either!

I was going to suggest Kona also! I know that I have seen some BRIGHT orange cotton broadcloth at either Hancocks or Joanns at some point. . . . If you don't have a Hancock Fabrics, I would be glad to stop by mine to see if they have any. Just let me know!!!

edited: I did a search and I found this listing. I don't know what acrylic fabric is tho, you could call them! http://store.realtree.com/realtree-a...ric-clone.html

This one says it is poly cotton and good shirt or pant material? http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Ki...-Fabric-Orange

Moda Bella Solids has an orange that looks "true" and like the "hunters orange" I googled. It is 100% cotton, 45" wide.

If you're not in a hurry, you might wait a month or two, I can almost guarantee you that you will be able to find the color you need in time for hunting season. I bought some several years ago, I can remember it was summer when I found it. And the LQSes didn't have it, it was at Joann's and Hancocks.
