can anyone recommend a block of the month pattern for beginner to appliqué?
I'd like to join a block of the month club to improve my applique skills. I'm pretty motivated by knowing that another block will be arriving the next month so I think that will keep me on task. But most of the BOM clubs I see for applique are very very advanced (or maybe I'm just easily intimidated). Any recommendations of a good one to start with?
Oh, and machine applique is definitely preferred.

If you google block of the month you'll get several links to stores that have block of the month programs. A lot of them are pieced of course but there are several applique blocks of the month too. Don't be intimidated by them! No matter how complicated they look they're still just one shape at a time sewn to the background.

I was wondering about this. I haven't done much applique and they do look very intimidating, but there is an element of which it is the same method no matter what, just maybe more pieces than I'm used to. So maybe I should just dive right in to one of the ones that scare me. I'm really tempted by this one:

It isn't a block of the month, but My Lazy Daisy have some real simple applique patterns for table runners and some quilts. You may want to check them out. www.mylazydaisy.com
