Does reorganizing quilting room lead to lost items?

Occasionally when I open the door to the lower level of the house the lights are on. Now, I would never leave a light on, would I, so it must be needed by the person who is hiding things in my quilting room. This person especially likes seam rippers, because I have more than one of these I can't find.
