    I think the pink mutes/drabs down the colors of the top -

    I think most little kids love the texture of satin. My grandsons dragged around some ivory satin for a couple of years.

    I am ambivalent about using that pink satin with that top.

    What are you thinking about for using for the backing?

    Not liking the shiny satin around that quilt... but then I'm not 7 years old, either! I think the blocks have enough sparkle on their own. Also, satin is a notorious frayer. If you decide to use it, make bigger seams... like 1/2".

    blankets used to always have satin top and bottom. As a thumb sucker, I can attest to their comfort

    I like it. The satin border plays nicely with the ballerina skirt.

    The little girl would love it for the bright color and soft texture. I would hesitate to use it though because I would worry about the durability.
