I wear a Cling On when I sew. I gule a small piece of metal to the end of the handle of my ripper. works great and I usually can find it easily. keeps my snip handy and any stray pins i come across.

Ditto! I use my ripper a few times a day. Actually, I use it more than a few times.

I have two seam rippers that I usually go to at least once during every session. I've come to expect to have to redo something and just see it as part of the exercise. I picked up one a few years ago that works more like a little file than a sharp thread cutter. It slides between the two pieces of fabric and goes really fast. For the dollar I paid for it, I've certainly gotten my moneys worth.

I have always told myself that if you don't have time to do it right the first time, how will you find the time to do it over? Sounds like good advice but practicing it is another subject. I should listen to myself. LOL

I was sewing a 3D bowtie quilt top together yesterday, I sewed a row together all wrong. So I had to take it apart, today I will give it another try. If not for my trusty seam ripper it would still be wrong. I like the white handled Clover seam ripper the best, its got a small sharp point.

Oh, I'm sorry you had to spend all that time with your little friend. I usually pick up a new one whenever Joann's has their notions wall for 50% off.
