double sided tshirt quilts
I was asked to make a double sided tshirt quilt. I have made lots of tshirt quilts. Is it a big deal to make tshirts on both sides of a quilt?
I don't think it would be - but I don't want to be surprised

my concern is moving the quilt while quilting.... if the backing is just cotton then it slides but with the logos would it stick and drag while quilting?
I wouldn't do any fancy quilting - would probably just do straight lines maybe 4" apart

Two thoughts for your question.
Can you make it using the QAYG technique? That might work for the two sides. Use a layer of tissue paper under the logo to prevent them from sticking as you quilt. Good luck!

tissue paper still may help. And you could make blocks and then put them together in a Quilting in Sections way. which is also a quilt as you go with skinny sashings. should be tutorials out there. Good luck!!

You could always hand tie it instead of quilting on a domestic. It goes really fast and is an easy mindless task while relaxing in the evenings. I tied every 3" when I did them. I cut a felt square and just lined up my ties using the felt square to space them.
I have done a few double sided T-shirt quilts on my longarm and had no issues but I think the extra weight may cause you some problems on a domestic unless everything is well supported and your machine bed is the same height as your table surface.

I have been asked to do a double sided T-shirt quilt also. I wondered about quilting on the LA. I have done one T-shirt quilt on only one side but I think it should work. The only problem I can see is I won't be able to see the bottom side as I quilt.

My first Quilt was a double sided t-shirt quilt using the coordinating front and backs of my husbands Harley T-shirts (his request). I tied the quilt. Depending on how large u r making it, consider how heavy it might b if u do overall quilting.
