Everything you said but add to that no unvited guest and no unwanted telephone calls to interrupt the creative juices and sewing. I get too many interruptions here to get anything done.

Mine is a cottage in the woods somewhere with plenty of property so my nearest neighbor is miles away So I can have my dogs, lots of them, especially old ones who no one wants.
Lots of natural light, no fireplace though don't like to clean I would rather be sewing. A creek nearby, room for a garden.
A guest house so if people do come they are not in the house with me. lol
Huge sewing room , a bedroom a bath and a small kitchen is all I need.
Oh forgot about the porch with a flower filled meadow in front with a porch swing and rocking chairs.

Is it snowing outside? I live in the south & it would have to be snowing!!

If I'm really dreaming, I've often thought that setting my cutting table and machine in the middle of a qiant quilt show would be wonderful. Then I would have everything I need right at hand!

The only thing I'd add is a bowl of M & M's to go with my tea! :) :)

Ooohhh!! Barbara, you couldn't be more on target
with my dreams. I, too, live in hot, hot, hot TX,
but am from GA. You don't know how much I
would love a place somewhere like VT, just for
the beautiful scenery and cool weather. I could
really get inspired in a place like that. Today will
be our 17th straight day of over 100 degrees,
with a heat index of around 112. It cools off to
about 85 at night. . Like you, my husbands job
is here or we would be long gone (no offense to
all the native Texans on this board. I love the
people, but absolute hate the heat and the landscape.

I have always dreamed of having a quilting cottage on the coast somewhere in Ireland, small and cozy with a fireplace, a wall of windows on one side facing the ocean and another wall of windows facing the hills of Ireland.

I live in Eastern New Mexico, and you have my dream, at least in the woods and a babbling brook, where I can open the windows and have fresh clean air. The smell of GREEN, not the smell of dust and cows. LOL
