It seems to me that you could make this quilt very fast and easy with a stack and slash method. You could stack up six squares and with a premade template of your own or one of the many commercial rulers do your own block. Stack, cut, and bury the top triangle on the bottom...tada six blocks made. It looks like it could be done with ten inch layer cakes quite simply.
