Default Eleanor Burns' Trip Around the World vs. regular strip-pieced method

I have four sisters and I want to make a (not too difficult) lap quilt for each of them. I was thinking about a trip around the world. I watched Eleanor Burns' video of her method and wondered how much easier it is than the traditional strip piecing method. With Eleanor's quilt, you don't have to match all seams when putting the rows together, I believe, just when you are putting top and bottom halves together. Of course, that was a baby quilt and a little larger quilt might have a different amount of matching.

EB is pretty consistent with no matter what size you make. Just be careful because you don't want to make a cutting mistake with that quilt.

I have made a several strip trip around the worlds and several triple around the world quilts. I prefer the triple ones. Never saw the way E.B. makes hers.

Triple around the world? I'll have to look that up.

Here is a link to Eleanor's quick trip around the world, which is the one I meant to ask about.

I've done them both ways. I really don't have a preference. They both worked up pretty easily.

The only one I've done I pieced by hand so it was put together entirely differently

I've done both ways. EB's method much quicker and easier IMHO. I have made 4 tops with the Quick Trip method.
In fact, my avatar is one of the smaller Quick Trips.

I've made 2 Tip Around the World (queen size) using Eleanor Burns book and they are so easy to do. In the process of cutting a baby quilt. This is the only method I've use. Good luck with which ever method you choose.

Thank you for the comments. I'll think about it! I know I want to make my sisters lap quilts, but just haven't settled on fabric, colors, etc. And I keep changing my mind about the pattern--at this rate they'll be old(er) women before I'm done (or even start).
