    Default Elmer's Glue for Borders

So I used Elmer’s glue today to “pin” the borders on a very large quilt. This is REALLY good! First, it makes the sewing MUCH faster, because you never have to straighten it out and line up the edges, and you don’t have to remove pins. You can sew the borders really fast. Also, if you’re not using a walking foot, you have no slippage whatsoever like you usually get with pins, so that the lower piece ends up shorter than the top piece. If you try it, you will never pin again, I guarantee it…or your money back. :-)

I agree...It is absolutely amazing! This is the only way I sew rows together and add borders now. :-)

I always glue baste my bindings. A quick press with a hot iron sets them so you can move along quite quickly. The part I like the best is there are no pins for my thread to catch on when I am hand stitching and no more pricks and scrapes to my hands and arms from pins.

Have to agree with you! But instead of ironing, I use the Clover clips and when I get ready to sew, the glue is fine and the clips slide off easily as I rearrange the quilt as I sew.

I agree, I will never pin again. Elmer's glue is the best thing since sliced bread. LOL
