Thanks for posting Sharon Shamber's binding with Elmer's glue. I have quilts to bind and am not looking forward to it, but this looks so easy that I am not as worried about doing the binding anymore. Glad you posted the YouTube video. I think you helped a lot of people today.

For those of you asking about basting an entire quilt, YES, you can do it. It's the only way I do it! Go to this thread, about 1/2 way down on the 2nd page, I go step by step on how I do it. http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...t180790-2.html Others have shared their methods too

And there's the rub.
Sharon used to sell them on her site, but they were out of stock FOREVER.
She recently restocked with a new product that's all plastic but, guess what, they're now out of stock.

You can buy the metal tips in Michael's or Joann's, but there have varied reports on this board and elsewhere on the success of finding them.
I swear the next time I run across them, I'm just going to buy them all out and them sell for cost and postage because everyone is always clamoring for them.
As noted above, the first few times I used this method, I used the Roxanne bottle.
After that got destroyed, I used the glue straight from the bottle for a few quilts.
It worked just fine, but it was just a tad messier.
But it's washable glue so i really didn't care.
I'm sure most are neater workers than I am anyway.
I did see some interesting possibilities on eBay:

I don't know if these would be too thin:

Regardless of which tip you use, I find it really helpful to clean it out after each use, or at least run a thick thread through it to clear it out.
Pretty annoying to start the process and spend forever trying to get the passageway clear.
Oooooooh, I just found these - they might work:
