Which end of thread off spool should be knotted??
I read somewhere long ago that the end of the thread you knot can control the "fraying" of the thread. Anyone know which is the proper end to knot off a spool of quilting thread - the first end pulled off or the end you cut from spool??? Thanks in advance!

Yes, I do it this way also. Some threads are a little "springier" and tend to tangle more for me the closer they get down to the spool. I do have beeswax to run the thread through if it starts to misbehave.

I have read that by knotting the cut end you will be pulling the thread through the fabric with the twist so it frays less, (but I think the information may be out of date and most modern threads don't care).
