    Default Essential pro thread?

I am getting ready to order a lot of thread for a new quilting project. Can anyone tell me about the Essential Pro thread from Connecting Threads (the poly thread - not their cotton).

Is it thinner than their cotton? How does it compare to something like Isacord?

Would you recommend it for small detail free motion work?

It is a 70wt thread so is very fine and is definitely thinner than their cotton thread. It would be good for small detail free motion work. Some people are able to use it in their longarms, but it breaks and shreds in mine. Glide 60wt is a polyester thread that is just a little heavier than CT but Glide never breaks or shreds on me, so that is what I use with my longarm. Haven't tried CT Essential Pro with my domestic Bernina, but think I would have no problems doing free motion work with it in that machine. I have not used Isacord so can't compare with that.

I don't have a long arm. Just wondering about the quality of the thread.

I think I will give it a try- however, I just realized it may not work for me. I need a rainbow of colors, and they don't appear to have a purple

I use a lot of it for bobbin thread. I've never had a problem using it for top or bobbin.

I used to buy their regular cotton thread and when I tried the essential pro...wow what a difference. I love it for the long arm. A lot less linty than the cotton one and very strong. I really like using it for long arm.
