you know the saying 'she with the most fabric wins"? Well we found the winner about 12 yrs ago. My cousin worked at a Moose Lodge & some lady said her sister passed away, left her a million dollars. Her only complaint was she was too old to enjoy that million dollars now, she'd wished she'd gave it to her earlier in life. Then went on to tell about how her sister collected fabric all her life & they had an estate sale to get rid of all her belongings. My cousin asked her what all she had in the estate sale & she proceded to tell her. This woman had 66 boxes of fabric. All measured 5 yds & up or 5 yds & under on every box. They sold 66 boxes at the estate sale & still had 22 boxes left! My cousin & I went over there to look at it & once she saw it, she offered her $200 for all of it & they took it! This fabric filled one whole side of my 2 car garage! We had so much fun going thru all this fabric night after night after we got it home. Thank goodness someone had a truck to help us because we could have never carried all of it. I still have 99% & have thought about selling it because I just have not used it. But for now it sits nice & neat in my closet all folded & ready to be used. These are the best pics I could get of it.... ;o}

How wonderful. Wish I could have been with you just to see it. I just attended the Twin Rivers Quilt Show in New Bern, NC. So many beautiful quilts. Makes me want to put all other life activities on hold and just quilt!

However her quilting books had no price and apparently no one had asked. I grabbed up 12 books and took them to the checkout. Cost $2.00/ book!!!! I got Volume 1,2, and 3 of Better Homes and Gardens Quilt -Lovers Favorites,Quilting with Fons and Porter, 365 Fun to stitch Quilt Blocks, Debbie Mumm's Quick Country Quilts for Every Room, The Thimbleberries Guid For Weekend Quilters, Quilting Pieces of the Past, and 3 books from Rodale's Successful Quilting Library. $ 2.00/each! I'm a happy camper!
This is a good reminder to me, it IS worth the trouble to go to some of these estate sales and yard sales! You never know what treasures are going to be there, and many times the sellers have no idea what they have!
