It can be tooooo hot to hand stitch the binding on, this is a lovely job in winter curled up under the quilt and stitching I front of a log burning fire.

No A/C here (NH) and, yes, it can get too hot to quilt, piece, get dressed, or even think about sitting down at the sewing machine.

When it's hot AND humid, forget it. What fun is it to be sticking to the fabric every time you put your hands on it? And how grungy does that make the finished blocks? Ick! Nope, some things are better left for another day and, luckily for us, those hot sticky spells up here never last very long at all.

I try to skimp on my A/C because of the bill that I know is coming each month so I slow down with my quilting during the summer. I get the afternoon sun bearing down on my bedroom and living room huge patio door where my Bernina is set up. And it is now August with 3 more months of this heat wave.

I love summer so I quilt less in the summer but I still quilt. In winter I sew all the time.

I never consider it too hot for quilting. My home is air conditioned, so I am always cool. I do have less time to quilt when it is hot outside, but only because there is more work to do outside. I love to quilt anytime.

I worked on a binding yesterday but it wasn't on my lap. I have a tendency to get a kink in my neck if I look down to often with things on my lap. I have an old hospital bedside table that I can adjust if I want to watch tv and work on anything. So easy to store, I can raise or lower and takes up little space.

That's how I do my bindings, too, tessagin, except I use my ironing board. Works like a charm doesn't it.

We have ac at home so I can quilt anytime. At the cabin if it is too hot outside I turn on a fan and quilt. I had heat stroke 20 years ago so I can't take the heat so I enjoy quilting even when it is hot outside

Yes it sure does! My sewing room is the hottest room of the house during the summer. That coupled with having the iron heating the room, is too much for me to stand in the afternoons. I get all my gardening and housework finished before I sew, and that puts me into the room right at those high temps.
