Default Fabric dot com and Amazon

I have noticed that the only place I could find my favorite batting was on fabric dot com. I used to buy the batting, and shop for a little 'sale' fabric just for fun. Now that they have linked up with amazon, you usually have a minimum amount of 'on sale' yardage you have to purchase, often as much as 6 yards! I am so disappointed. Now the only place I can find my favorite batting is on amazon, so I guess that is what I will have to do.

I've always ordered wide flannel for backing from Fabric.com. I got my latest order from them last week ( it came shipped by Amazon) and I could just cry! Their flannel has always been nice- soft and thick, no problems with it at all. What I got last week is a joke. When it came out of the dryer, it had pills all over it. It's disgusting, I can't even use it or return it because I've already washed and dried it. I guess they've changed their supplier. I won't be ordering any more from them.

It's sad to hear that Fabric.com is now owned by Amazon. Really too bad. I've ordered from them in the past but will not order from them anymore.

RosaSharon, what is the brand of batting you prefer?

I will still buy from Fabric.com if they are the only one who has what I need, but when they went to the policy of charging more for 1/2 yd., it ceased to be a practical place for me to shop. I haven't really missed them, and I doubt they have missed me, LOL. Thankfully, there are endless alternatives.

I hesitate to say what my favorite batting is because so many won't use polyester, but I truly love the Dream Green polyester. It is soft, no scrim, easy to work with, no pill, no shrinkage after it is all quilted and laundered in the future. Oh, and cheap too.

its funny I loved Fabric.com and I do still really like Amazon... but I hate to say that Fabric.com lost something special they had when Amazon bought them.

the only thing that I do like is that now that Amazon owns Fabric.com I am able to find items that ship for free. Not all of it does but I don't have to spend $50.... I just look at Amazon before I order from Fabric.com

RosaSharon, I googled the Dream Green poly batting, and there seem to be several places that carry it, along with some Etsy sellers. Here's a link to the google search page:

Backside Fabrics carries it. I have had very good luck ordering fabric from Backside. Love their prices on backside bargains...wide backings.
