Default Fabric with holes

I have some fabric that comes with holes in it (they are supposed to be there)
how do I quilt with it? Put a second piece of fabric behind it?

I would think you would need fabric behind it if you are using quilt batt to sandwich. If you used something like fleece instead of quilt batt, it would be okay.

I would personally put a back fabrics to either neutralize the back or something bold to make the front fabric stand out. If not thinking in this direction us it on a block that is made as a foundation block.

My friend Cindi is making a memory quilt for family members of a relative who recently passed. She's using clothing items, and there's a lot of lacy fabrics and eyelet fabrics. We discussed it and one of our concerns was the quilting foot catching (especially the eyelet fabrics) as it was being quilted. She decided to put a layer of tulle on top and quilt over that. Maybe that would be a good solution to your situation?

I've used swiss eyelet fabric on borders, but agree, you'd need something behind it in a quilt because the batting would migrate though.

I certainly agree with everyone else-you would need some sort of fabric behind your fabric that has holes in it.

Kalama, that looks so delicate and pretty! Also love the beading detail.
