The fabric I purchased last week varies in the number of dots from 6 - 13.

Thanks for sharing this info. I'll be checking dots from now on.

When I took my printing classes- that's what we used- + signs or color dots to check registration- the lining up of one color to another. I thought that's why they were there- to line up the fabric for the next color. I never thought to use them for color matching. Silly me!

I learned something new today!

there is a clearance center very near me and when they also run their twice yearly sales, that's what i look for. that tells me that what i'm buying is simply end-of-bolts and not cheap knock-offs. however if the pattern is such that the print doesn't need to be exact, like a white background floral, and the manufacturer is well-known, like michael miller or kaufman, then if the price is greatly reduced i'll buy it. as long as i know what i'm buying.
