The idea of this moritorium is to clear out your stash and save money.
It will also clear out some space in your sewing area and you may discover treasures you forgot you had.
The rules are simple: No new fabric purchases until November 2012.
You can buy:
batting
backing and/or binding
fabric - if NOTHING in you stash will work. (Consider trading with a friend)
thread and notions
fabric purchased on a plan (example - block of the month)
Some can do variations such as only 3 months, or a GREAT sale.
Anyone can join.
Come on and clear out some of that stash and make room for great new fabrics next year.

I am only buying the 4 B's...backing, batting, background, border. I may also buy some fabric if I need 1 yard or less to go with stash fabrics to finish a project. I have been using this method for over a year now.

Already started this! My husband and I painted my studio after Christmas and in the rearranging I found fabric I forgot I had! And I had a scrap bin that I could not get the lid on! So, Not only do I have to use my stash, I have to use my scraps as well! But I know I will by batting and backing fabric!

my first goal is to organize my sewing room, so I can SEE what I have. I'm halfway there, I'm going to try to finish the fabric today, just having it all out on the table, to fold it onto the cards, tells me I will have to do this at 2 years to get it down to a manageable quantity lol, will post pics tonight after I finish

I'M IN!!!
I just made a list of my fabrics and projects. Way too many!
This time I think I'm really ready for this challenge cause I'm not that excited about the new fabric I see but I am excited about all the projects on my list.
