I was in Joann's a few days ago just to browse (?). What a mad house. They were having a Veterans Day Sale and there were ladies all over. The cutting line was so long, people had to wait almost an hour to get their fabric cut and then had to stand in line to pay for it. Needless to say, I bought only one piece of fabric but it was worth it. It will go with my quilt that will be made for my son.

Their sales remind me of Black Friday LOL
You need to go with the intent of long lines for cutting and check out :D:D:D

I had to make 3 trips to my Joann's before I could buy some of those sale fabrics, too. The line at the cutting table wrapped aroung the store not to mention the register. And this was on Sunday and Monday. I finally went in at 8:00pm last night and it was heaven...no line! But then I live 10 minutes away.

I always add at least 30 minutes to the time required when I go to Joanne. They don't staff for big crowds, really, at least our local store doesn't. I'm OK with their fabrics, though, and their sales are good.

I can't imagine waiting an hour in line to purchase anything - I don't want anything that bad, or have the patience. Mostly the second one ;-). When I see a line like that, I just leave the store.

When I worked at JoAnn's, I was able to staff the store in relation to the amount of the receipts. Obviously, that has changed. I thought it was just the store I go to, but it sounds like it is all over. No one should have to wait more than a few minutes to be served, except at the ridiculous times like the morning after Thanksgiving.

The tricky part was estimating when I'd need the most staff on the floor, but you get a feel for it.

I stopped there this morning and it wasn't too bad. There were quite a few in line waiting to get their fabric cut, but by the time I got up there, there was only one person ahead of me.
