Default Favorite 12" block

Our Guild is doing the Pizza Box Block Exchange. We supply enough fabric for 12 blocks in a Pizza Box, make a block each month then pass to the next person on your list. Here's my question. Do you have a favorite !2" (finished) block that is easy while also interesting?

This disappearing 4 patch is easy but looks impressive. the site owner posted it in a way that is easy to come out to the right 12 1/2" unfinished size. http://chock-a-blockquiltblocks.blog...g-4-patch.html

I like the Jacob's Ladder quilt block.

That is a really tough question! The Ohio Star block comes first to mind though. The pizza box exchange sounds like a lot of fun.

While I might have ideas in mind, I would wait to decide until I received the box each month.

Sometimes the fabric will shout out to you as to what it needs to become!
(and what would just not work!)

Plus, taking note of the previous blocks, I would do my best to choose a block pattern that worked well with the those previously made.

I'm a Jacobs Ladder fan! Don't know why but I've always loved that block.

I love churn dash and Ohio star for 12" blocks. When I am at a loss for ideas, I make a bunch of half light + half dark HST's and play until I like the result.
