I loved watching Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson, who exposed us to many, many quilters and their methods. The first quilter I saw was Georgia Bonesteel - her video and Spinning Spools patterns and templates helped me make my very first and only hand quilted quilt for my daughter. I have loved Eleanor Burns for years as she shares her methods of making quilts faster and easier. I just read a thread that Mary Ellen Hopkins had passed away, sadly. I was fortunate enough to watch her speak at a quilt gathering, her sense of humor and love of quilting was contagious. There are more, but those 4 quilters have definitely influenced my quilting especially.

I think my favorite is Brenda Papadakis (Dear Jane). She was very helpful and fun. I took her class at Empty Spools. I wanted to go back for a repeat, but things came up and I couldn't get back.
I also like Freddie Moran and Becky Goldsmith, who I also met at Empty Spools - they are nice women (didn't get to take a class with either of them). Judy Neimeyer (had a class with her at a LQS and going for another) as well as Pam Clarke and Marilyn Badger (these are LA teachers that I have had).

Same here, but also include eleanor. In Sept, I'm going to a 3 day seminar that Eleanor is hosting, yeaa! Several years ago at a sewing expo I found myself washing my hands in the ladies room at the sink next to Eleanor, also washing her hands, a quick smile & "I love you" from me. Many years ago at another sewing expo I did take one of her classes-so much fun.

I learned to quilt watching Alex Anderson on Simply Quilts so she is my all time favorite. I attended one of Alex's retreats in her hometown in CA and she is just as nice and helpful as can be. The past year or so I have been hanging out at Missouri Star Quilt Forum and really enjoy Jenny Dolan's tutorials, they are always helpful and really "darling" to quote Jenny. May in Jersey
