    Featherweights use regular type needles. Just go with your favorite brand. Don't forget to check out in your manual which way the needle hole is to face and which direction you run the thread through the hole. :-)

    I'm not sure yet a friend of mine got mine for me. I do know its a 221- I haven't check it all out yet I'm heading back over to the house. I'm house and dog sitting for a friend. Its just me and 9 yorkies.. does anyone want to buy a puppy

    You can download (for free) a copy of the manual from the Singer website. You can also pay for a hardcopy to be mailed to you. I have the original, but downloaded so I can keep the original on in good condition.

    NINE YORKIES?? Seeing as how u are in Tx...can't get one but would love one! They're such a cuties. Be sure to look at the little silver metal bar on bottom of machine and look up the
    numbers on featherweight site for dates. Will be looking Sat for your info or pic. Have fun with it!

    I use Schmetz. Mary, the lady that organizes the bi-monthly retreats at Threads of Time showed me some Schmetz that she bought off ebay, I think, 100 for 31 cents each! You have to get 100 because they come in a little box that way. The little box has a thing in it that keeps them in order. It was really cool.

    nwm50 I would love for you to have one of the puppies. She has a male left. He just to cute. My friend get so attach to them when she doesn't sell them at 8 weeks.
    I hope you haven't gotten any of the storm they came through Fa yesterday.

    The featherweights take a standard 15x1 needle, and it doesn't matter what brand... Schmetz or Organ is just a personal preference...

    Right Charlee, I got mine here--100 for $11.95
    Work very well, price is right.
