Fess up...do you own any quilts bought from a store or catalog or tv shopping?

Sure. Bought a lovely red white and blue one back int he '80s at a local linen shop and then my son gave us a nice double wedding ring quilt for one of our major anniversaries. Since I only have made one quilt it would be hard to use mine! HAHhaha....well, I am sure that is going to change.

I have one I bought years ago, before I started quilting myself. I have the top of a quilt made for my bed, now I need to get the backing and batting and finish it. I have put it off because we have a cat that sleeps on the bed often and at night when she is crowding my DH, DH will try to "launch" her and she digs in and I am afraid she will tear the quilt...solution, take the quilt off at night, problem solved!

I have quilts that were made in China. I bought them before I quilted but we still use them mostly as camping and utility quilts but it is nice to have them. Some one went through the trouble to make them. They are not cheater quilts like the new ones and most are hand quilted.

Thru EBAY I bought a single "Martha Stewart" MORNINGSTAR pattern that was made in 2002. Don't know why I
didn't buy the king size with shams at the time but I wasn't able too. Loved the bright colors but now used single
as a lap quilt on cold nights. Still want the king . Have the "Morningstar" pattern but doesn't look as good.
When we moved here I bought a quilt from Cracker Barrel because I liked colors . Under it is my log cabin scrappy'
Have since made many quilts so don't really need more but some of these are not big enough for our bed or colors
that I prefer to use to decorate . Laugh that some people don't see the difference with bought'n cheap quilts as they
only see the colors not even all the pattern.

I have one I bought on my bed. I promised myself this year I will make one just for me. I have 3 more family ones to make first though. I just spent 5 days in the hospital (the old ticker is trying to wind down) but guess God isn't finished with me yet. So God willing and the creek don't rise, I hope to get all my quilting done.
I do not have any store bought quilts on my beds. As a matter of fact, I replaced the comforted that was in our 5th wheel with a quilt that I made just for that bed. My mother and Grandmother were prolific quilters. I am slower than they were, but I enjoy taking my time. PS, this is a great thread.

Absolutely. JC Penney has very nice quilts and I've bought several over the years. I also have two that were mde by the Amish. Ever been to an Amish quilt auction? Very much fun. Especially when you win the bid!

Before I started quilting, I bought three quilts from a department store, but since then I have bought quilts from other quilters. I have bought baby quilts when in a pinch and don't have time to make one for the baby shower. There is a long arm quilter who sells quilts she makes and once in a while I will buy one of her's. They are beautiful and very reasonably priced. It's like being an artist and buying a painting someone else painted. If I love it, I'll buy it. But not anymore from dept. stores or TV.
