How great for you both. It seems like when you meet one person that shares your joy in quilting, the circle just seems to grow. She knows someone that knows someone that knows someone, etc. until you have a good size group to enjoy. I hope that is what happens for you.

There are some people that I have seen on here that live in KY but I'm sort of afraid to pm them or anything. I noticed one lives in Owensboro. That is about 45min - 1 hour away. Not sure if anyone lives in my city but that would be neat.

I am trying to get some ladies from church into it but man it's a slow go!

My daughter also loves to quilt but she moved out to Portland. We did go fabric shopping when I went to visit got to got to go the fabric Depot. A huge place.

Yes, I have no one close that quilts. My sister is my quilting buddy, but she lives in NY and I live in NM, so no shopping trips or anything like that unless we visit each other. I have a SIL and a neighbor who will take me to buy material, and DH reluctantly does, but no browsing. So I do most of my shopping on line, and get my ideas, and learn so much on this board. Wish someone here lived in my town.

Isn't great to be able to actually talk to someone about quilting? My close friend's eyes would glaze over whenever I mentioned the word quilt. I was so happy when I found a local quilting pal. Though a quilting message board just like this one I met a gal who lives just a few mintues away from me and we've become great friends as well as quilting pals. May in Jersey
