Congratulations on your SCORE! You are not the only one in the financial leaky boat this year. I would really like to take Christmas off the calendar. There will be no store bought gifts this year, only the ones I am frantically making. Have fun with your EQ5 and be sure to check out Rhonda's Monday morning classes for it. Great for you on the GW find!

Like others have said you are not alone in the 'no gifts' department. Millions of others are cutting back for the holidays in the gift giving area but are trying to make up for it with other 'new traditions'.

    Someone suggested homemade cookies...good one.
You said you couldn't 'send' presents which makes me think you're far away from family...what about a wonderful card for each person that contains true feelings or wonderful stories about them.

This is just the beginning of the day for your post...I'm sure the smart quilters on this board will come up with lots of 'no cost' 'low cost' things you can do. What age ranges are we talking about for the GKs?

    Remember you're not alone.

Christmas has gotten so commercialized, we all need to get back to the basics, back to the real meaning of Christmas. A sharing from the heart is the best gift of all.
Agree with you. We need to rethink our idea of gift giving. Something from the heart like a letter is awesome. Sometimes it is the little things that is the best. Doesn't have to be big or bought.

Kerry's idea is great! I wish my grandmothers had done something like that. Its too late now. Share your history with them while you can. It will be worth more than any physical gift you could buy.
