FIRE!`

OM Goodness, mine is plugged in right now. Always rely on auto shut off, which frustrates me when I am sewing and it keeps shutting off. Will unplug that thing right now. So glad you are safe and you did not have any more damage. Thanks so much for warning us.

I haven't been unplugging my Rowenta for years. But just today I happened to touch the cord right where it went into the iron and it was really hot. I will always unplug it now especially after hearing this from you.

Glad that you are not hurt and that everything was looked after so promptly.
My sewing room is downstairs and if it's a day that I am sewing, I leave it on, all day even if I'm away from my sewing station for a few minutes or for meals..... how scary your story is. I will unplug it if ever I leave my sewing area wow.... I am scared of fire!!!
Thanks alot for telling us your story
