It is beautiful, and beautifully done! And the best part may be how proud your husband is of you. I love the stories I read here about how supporting some husbands are of their wives' hobby (or work) and how much pride and joy they take in what they create. Makes my heart full. Other husbands should take note! .....and lessons!

WOW!! Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC!! Stand tall and be proud of youself. If you had not said that it was your "first" quilt nobody would have ever known. Your quilt looks like it was done by someone who has be quilting for many years! Congradulations!

You should be so proud of yourself. You did an amazing job!! Think of all you accomplished--created your own pattern, made everything come together at the corners, did two sided binding, did your own quilt design and quilted it by hand. What a list of accomplishments! Bravo!! We can't wait to see what you do next.

Nice Quilt!! Where is the pattern for the chain link squares around the border? I love this border!! Did you hand quilt it? I love the tulips in the border. They look like they were made by hand quilting.

I worked on it for the last 5 or 6 years on and off, but more intensively in the last year. It started because of orphan blocks, and it kept growing on me. I had no idea where I was going so I did not know how much fabric I needed to buy of course. I wanted to use what I had on hands, bits and pieces so it has a scrappy look also...
To keep learning, I thought that a one color backing was a lost for my learning experience, therefore I made it a reversible quilt, why not, for a first.... everything goes... loll
Came the time of making the binding, I decided to practice what I had learned on a sample project six years ago and I made a two-color binding
I started hand quilting it 6 months ago. I used washable crayola fine point markers as I read here on the board and to my great satisfaction, it all washed away .... I had my doubt of course because this quilt is a ďfirstĒ in many aspects for me!
I am very proud of my achievement and I must admit that I am kind of tired of seeing it. I donít know if my husband is being nice or sincere or proud of me or all of the above,.... but he could not wait to use it on our bed, where it stands right now. What is nice about this quilt is that we use it alternatively on one side than on the other side, every other day.... loll
    Just in case you ask....!
Yes........ I have another one (smaller though) all pieced, reversible and I will be sandwiching it soon.... and Iíll post pics. It probably wonít take 6 years but a few months for sure as I want to enjoy summer for now and do outdoors activities.
