Nice Quilt!! Where is the pattern for the chain link squares around the border? I love this border!! Did you hand quilt it? I love the tulips in the border. They look like they were made by hand quilting.

I worked on it for the last 5 or 6 years on and off, but more intensively in the last year. It started because of orphan blocks, and it kept growing on me. I had no idea where I was going so I did not know how much fabric I needed to buy of course. I wanted to use what I had on hands, bits and pieces so it has a scrappy look also...
To keep learning, I thought that a one color backing was a lost for my learning experience, therefore I made it a reversible quilt, why not, for a first.... everything goes... loll
Came the time of making the binding, I decided to practice what I had learned on a sample project six years ago and I made a two-color binding
I started hand quilting it 6 months ago. I used washable crayola fine point markers as I read here on the board and to my great satisfaction, it all washed away .... I had my doubt of course because this quilt is a “first” in many aspects for me!
I am very proud of my achievement and I must admit that I am kind of tired of seeing it. I don’t know if my husband is being nice or sincere or proud of me or all of the above,.... but he could not wait to use it on our bed, where it stands right now. What is nice about this quilt is that we use it alternatively on one side than on the other side, every other day.... loll
    Just in case you ask....!
Yes........ I have another one (smaller though) all pieced, reversible and I will be sandwiching it soon.... and I’ll post pics. It probably won’t take 6 years but a few months for sure as I want to enjoy summer for now and do outdoors activities.

You did a beautiful job. I also love doing 2 side quilts and 2 color bindings. Takes a little longer, however when done, you actually have 2 quilts.

Thank you again ladies... I am still blushing from all your comments! I assure you that there is a lot of flaws in it, which does not show in the pictures I posted... my handstiching got better at the end as this quilt gave me the chance to get a lot of practice...
Handquilting a 2 sided pieced quilt was difficult at times and the "reverse" side does not look as nice at time. I read many times on this board, that we usually do not look at a quilt with magnifier and that from a few inches away, we usually do not see what the quilter sees while making the quilt. That made me accept things that I did not like and that I did not find "perfect" or to my satisfaction lolll

the pattern idea for the border. here.. http://www.quilterscache.com/A/AnotherLinksBorder.html

I hand quilted it, yes and it was part of my learning process... slowly at first, un doing it at times but I must admit that I am very stubborn or if you like, very determined when I want to learn something... as for the tulips in the border, I found a quilting stencil in a fabric store that sell 100% quilting cotton and I marked the border with it, as I went along...
    Hope that answers your question!!!
