I met a great gal on this forum, MistieMarie. We met at a guild meeting tonight. This was my first guild meeting and I had so much fun! I have avoided going to any guild meetings for several reasons. The women in the guild were great. The guild was created in January so it is new and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. There was a demonstration on binding a I learned so much. Mistie was great and made me feel comfortable. Woo Hoo!

It's nice to get in on the ground floor. Glad you have gotten in with a good group.

I have experienced this also. I belong to a wonderful group now. This group has "angels". They stay the newbie while she becomes more familiar with the group. This way she meets many different people and becomes more at ease. It is difficult to be ignored but sometimes it is good to see show and tell and to sometimes hear some great speakers and take classes you would not be able to do otherwise.
Good luck.

I'm glad you found a happy guild. There's nothing like being in a quilty environment. I so look forward to meeting day. And I have become very close friends with several. We go shop hopping, quilt shows and have quilt get togethers often. Have fun.
