You did a beautiful job on the piecing, now hand quilt it like it deserves. As a hand quilter I would echo the pieced seams by 1/4 inch on either side and outline the appliques. If there is room in the borders use a simple curved chain or pattern that gives it a little rounded touch. I know that most on this board seem to be machine quilters but hand quilting lets you stay in touch with your work and for goes all that rolling and wrestling to get a bed size quilt under your machines needle. A quilt that lovely deserves to be handled with loving care.

What a gorgeous quilt! I saw this quilt a few years ago, I think, and printed the photo off because I like it so much. Then I tried to find someone who was selling the kit/fabric/pattern but never could track it down. This is definitely one I would want to make but guess that is not going to happen. Yours is outstanding! Cannot believe it is you first big quilt. Others have made good suggestions on how to quilt it so good luck and enjoy you most beautiful quilt.

That is beautiful! What a great job you did! I agree with those who said to keep it simple. Maybe stitch in the ditch. Beautiful.

You did an amazing job, especially on all the hand applique. Just stunning, and I too, love the colors. I would stipple around the applique in the medallion, to make your lovely applique stand out.
