I'm thinking a 9 patch. I am about to begin the prewashing since I have bought flannel from different sources and one of them is dark brown. I know that needs a prewash. Thanks for the advice on the poly vs cotton batting and the larger seama. Rebecca

I have to ask, is the quilt in your profile, "Outside the Box" and was it hard to do ? I am wanting to try that pattern.

Wash your flannel first...I do mine twice...saves dramas and colour runs. Also the lint does build up surprisingly fast. I use lots of spray starch as well.
