I agree with Buckeye Rose. You didn't mention what type of batting you are using. I quilt on my Bernina 1530 and have always preferred a little puff that I get my using Hobbs 80/20 batting. I don't even want of think of trying to push thru two layers of batting in my older Bernina. I myself don't care for over-quilting because it can distract from your piecing which should be the star of any quilt. You can also looking in doing some trapunto quilting.

I just did a quilt with double batting and loved the extra loft. I use Hobbs 80/20. I'll probably start doing this on all my quilts. Looks great!

What kind of machine did you quilt your two layers of batting on? Thx.

Try Quilters Dream "Dream Puff", high loft and gives that puffy appearance and is easy to use on a DSM.
