So, I was just wondering..... with all these lovely quilts that I see on here every day, how many of you have ever entered your quilts in the local fairs or quilt shows? If so, do you think it was rewarding to see the faces of people when they looked at your quilts and hear their comments? Personally, I have entered several and one of the things I remembered most was watching some parents take pictures of their children in front of my Hot Air Balloon Quilt!! I thought that was so neat! What is the most memorable experience you've had while showing off your work?

ive entered quilts in both, local fairs and quilt shows and yes, the comments from the general public are educational in many ways. If you just 'hang around' near your quilt, its very interesting to know what people really think.

Yes, I have entered in local and regional fairs and placed a few firsts and best of show two years in a row. Just to see your quilt on display is so rewarding.

I have entered a few times into our local fair and have made quilts that were part of our fair raffle. Our guild is always at the fair and I was working in our booth one year. One of my quilts was part of the background but not entered into the fair. One patron came up to me as asked if he could buy tickets to win my quilt. He was disappointed when I said no but if he was interested in purchasing it, I might consider selling it. He simply smiled and walked away.

I enter in our county fair each year. I do it to see if I can learn anything new from the judges. Sometimes this has helped me. I get blue ribbons but don't really care as I enter to keep the quilt display as part of our exhibits. There are some really beautiful quilts entered,

I entered my quilt in the local fair this year. It won Honor. The ladies that baby sit the displays said it got lots of attention because of the scrappy I-spy look it had going on. The judges said it was "Very original !", "Neat idea!", and "Very Unique!"
