ONe of our retreat attendees was trying to make this pattern. We finally figured out the pattern had left out a whole set of instructions for putting the blocks into the quilt. She changed hers to fit and made the sashing in a different way.
Basically, it did not tell her to put borders around all four sides of the four patches and then construct the sashing and put the rows together.

My guild is having a workshop to make the 4 patch ! No pattern necessary. Good thing as I threw mine in the fireplace and watched it burn! That's how frustrated I was with the instructions.

I had purchased that pattern and didn't like it. gave it away. I finally made one the way everyone kept talking about. it was easy. I intend to make more but must finish the first one that is waiting on me.

I just took a class in this pattern. Actually this is my 2nd class with the same teacher. She had us get the pattern but we never opened it. LOVE this pattern! Patches made by the other ladies were all very pretty. PM me if you want help with the directions. They are really not hard if you do not look at the pattern directions!t!!!i

Don't be afraid. This is so much fun. This is a sampling of the 50 I got out of my repeats. They are 8" blocks unfinished. After laying all of them out I only found two sets that are similar but not identical. So I have actually 48 entirely different blocks and 2 close tos. They may go on the back.

The 4PP certainly looks like it would be fun to do, and a lot less hassle than trying to get 6 or 8 repeats perfectly cut! I very much like the quilts everyone here has made!
Another experiment for my to-do list... Thank you!
