free motion quilting foot

romanojg has it all out for you to see. I'd have gone with the second foot as I like to really see what I'm doing. I finally bought the foot made for my machine and omg I wish I'd done it years ago as the foot is made to work with the machine and the results are so much easier and cleaner. Check out Sewing Parts Online, they can be a little more economical on some items.

I agree with this. I have 2 Viking machines and I know that they will use the accessories that are the #7. Most of the accessory pages will state what machines they will NOT work with. The Accessory Book in the HV website has pictures and instructions for each of their accessories--as well as the product number.
why not check Viking's web site out. I do know there are different FMQ feet, open toed, closed, clear. . . . . . .
Here you go, looked it up for you

I have a Viking Sapphire 835. I recently bought a free motion foot, but I think I bought the wrong thing. This is what I bought.... http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Husqva...+quilting+foot , but I'm wondering if I should have bought this.... http://www.amazon.com/Viking-Open-Fr...+quilting+foot. Can someone clarify this for me please? Thank you!

I'm not familiar with your machine but I bought the plastic foot in your top picture and didn't work with my machine. Even with my feed dogs down and the pressure on my pressure foot set to the lightest it still didn't let my fabric move around. I also followed Leah Day's instructions for modifying a generic foot and it worked great. I ordered my foot on Amazon and I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but it was super cheap like $2. You could order two incase you are worried about cutting the plastic. http://www.leahday.com/shop/product/...quilting-foot/
