I know what you mean my GS was so close to me I thought it would last forever When he was younger he would sleep in my bed and when he was 7 I asked when he would sleep in his own room he said when he was 92 I just laughed and I tell him that story everytime I see him he just laughs. I guess I thought I would have him forever

Here's another chance for bonding -- Ask her if any of her friends have cell phones that can send photos, because you think so much of her talent that you want to have them send a picture of her piecing to this site. And maybe some of yours as well.

Thanks for sharing such a heart warming story.

I remember when I was a little girl and I'm almost 71 now. I think I stayed at the neighbors house more than I did at home. They were two elderly ladies. One who had lost her husband and her sister who had never married and was a school teacher. I treasure the times when they would show me how to do things. They have long since passed, but the memories live on.

This girl will treasure the time you and her spend together quilting and learning together.

What a heartwarming story. I hope you two become fast friends and quilting buddies. It sounds as if you are just what she needs now in her life, and you her.

Good Luck to both of you. This is a major step for her(and you). Looks like quilting to the rescue. It will help her to regain her confidence. Maybe one day soon she will join us and learn to open up to people. .

That's beautiful. Good for you for reaching out instead of being hurt. I know you will both be richer for it.
