funeral quilt

Are all casket inserts the same size ? We went last year and got a pre arranged funeral-I told director I wanted to make our own inserts- they had no problem with that but I didn't get measurements😩Also do you make them and at the time needed someone cover the original insert?
I worked for a big casket co. for about 5 years. my job was to embroider theinserts in the casket. it was the head panel. I would do everything from flags and military symbols, sports symbols, and the worst, but they wanted it, was a man and woman who died in a big drug bust. the caskets were side by side, and his said "Master" and hers said "Slave" with a ball and chain!!! I kid you not.
I also want some of my ashes to be made into a colored glass ball, about 3-4 inches, and they put your ashes into it as it's being blown. they form a string of stars. If anyone is interested, it's called Artful Ashes. you can't send your ashes by mail. they have to be shipped by Fed Ex, I think it was. you can go there and look it up. they also do hearts.
but back to my quilt, what design should I do??

all cakets have diffrent sizes. 2 of the ame model might even be off by 1/4" to 1".
You can make it now, and when the time comes, bring it in. Fabric color lots do change.
what are your plans for the head insert? they can be covered, or just add an insert.
on wood caskets, it's stapeled in. on metal, i just pops in. any questions, i wil try to answer for you.

I have a friend who travels with a baggie that has all the materials for making one inch hexies. She's putting it together (haven't got an update on size) and makes no bones about it for her funeral cloth.

A friends hubby died a few years ago. He had picked out his own urn and had told his wife which of her quilts he wanted displayed at his funeral. She had the quilt racks from our show at the service and had two quilts displayed. It was beautiful!

My dear Lynnie,
I would suggest making one in your favorite quilt design. The Lakota Sioux place a Lakota Star quilt on their loved ones casket.
