oh Red, you know me too well. a kitty and a beach, and Chasing Hawk, you're right about the hexies. Now to combine them both. I have lots of cat fabrics, so now the challenge is to find it all, and get something going with it. what a wonderful idea. thanks both of you.how to do it???

When my best friend passed, her mom had previously quilted a lap quilt for her. They had that quilt arranged around her urn and kinda draping over the edge. It was really beautiful and special.

Funeral home allowed her mom to come early and arrange it all herself.

For my mother in law’s 90th bday I made her a quilt which had pictures of her children and grandchildren on it. Each picture had a frame around it and looked like it was hanging from the top. She requested that it be used at her funeral so when she passed away at age 96 we had it drapped on a table with her urn on the top. She was indeed again surrounded by family.

When my Grandmother passed we draped her casket with on of her quilts and placed many of the others around the room, some included a story or memory of the quilt. As for what you thinking, make it something that means the most to you as it will be a kind of symbol of who you are and how you want to be remembered

I have two quilts for my funeral. One is a log cabin cross, and the other is the River Jordon, and angels coming to carry me home. The later is a landscape quilt, with things that have happy memories of mine. Neither one is finished, there is 3 inches of binding left on each. Someone in the family will have to finish them before I need them.
