fusible batting? vs basting spray?

fusible batting? vs basting spray?
I would like to use leftover batting for a bow tuck instead of buying the fusible batting the pattern calls for. If I spray the batting with the basting spray used to put the quilt sandwich together, would that work?

I made my first tote bag a couple of weeks ago and I used leftover batting I had at home (with basting spray). I also made another tote on Friday where I used Pellon Fusible Fleece. While I had no problems with using the leftover batting technique wise (it worked just fine) - I will be sticking with the fusible fleece. If I were to use leftover batting again for some reason, I would want to add a stiffer interfacing to the lining. The fusible fleece gives the purse more "body."
It really just depends on how you like your purse.

That is true - something to consider (unless you are quilting your purse, then it wouldn't matter). With the tote I made using leftover batting/spray - I quilted it.
With the tote that I used the fusible fleece - I actually didn't quilt it.

Ditto; I compared it to the 505 and the JT for me worked better and love the cost as well. I have had a couple of quilts that sat around for several months after being sprayed and they stayed together. No gunking up on the needle either. I also use it on my embroidery.
