Wow! Such great tips from everyone. I'm making notes here for when I go to a retreat. Most things I probably would remember, but some I wouldn't have thought of in a million years! Beck55 mentioned an extra bulb and slippers. I'm digging the slippers...it IS a retreat, after all!!!

All of these are great ideas. One of the biggest things that people for get are their clothes and PJ's. I know that sounds funny but it has happened. One person had to go shopping to buy clothes. Have a great time.

I like to take my own iron and small tabletop ironing board. Try to have your projects cut out ahead of time so you can use your time to sew. Take projects that are not too complicated cause sometimes it is hard to concentrate when everyone is chatting! Extension cords and table top light.

and bring show-and-tell items you've made! It's always fun to see what everyone has done in the past for new ideas

One of my quilting groups says NO irons as they provide them and don't want to extend the electrical capacity of where we go.

That group has also had numerous times where quilters brought their machines but left power cord or pedal & cord ... or both. Oops.

Please don't take so much that others don't have enough room. Keep to your area. If you have more please leave it in your car or bedroom.

If you do handwork you may want to take some with you for variety.

Have fun!

The last couple retreats I have gone on have been at a church retreat location that does not provide linens. If yours is not being hosted at a hotel you might want to check.

If your machine requires it, don't forget the sewing machine oil.
