I have read the book and could identify with the characters, too. I really enjoyed it. My only child left home in 1987 to go to college, then moved to Omaha (over 500 miles away) and has been there 16 years.

Thanks for the tip. My only daughter is trying to get into a PHD program in Salt Lake City so hopefully she will be moving from Montana soon so I will be an empty nester. (I mean hopefully she will get in not that I want her to leave us) She lived at home most of college since we only live about 10 mile from campus (and we would not afford the dorms except the first year) This sound like a good book to fill some of the time.

I have read this book and found it very interesting. Some of the items she was using to make the quilt really surprised me. You'll have to read the book to find out what I'm talking about. I enjoy any book that has a quilting theme.
