I have never seen this much material at this Goodwill. I have spent more and got more fabric in the past 4 days than I have gotten the entire time I have been quilting. I have gotten a total of 170 yards of fabric. Somebody tell me not to keep going back. I don't need more, I can't afford more but how can you turn this down. My Husband is out of town until Sunday. After I break the new fabric to him I will have him post pictures. Happy,Happy dances!

Somewhere, I think on Youtube is a video about hiding fabric. Perhaps someone can direct you.
Trick here is to learn to post your own pictures and he'll never know the difference.

You can't pass up a deal like that. Our thrift stores never have fabric, but if they did, I would consider buying it.

Having stash is a very good thing!! It's the week after Christmas and my discretionary funds are depleted at the moment. I have a quilt I have to make and thinking that I had no fabrics in the colors I need, I went to dig through my stash anyway. Low and behold I have enough in the right colors to make at least two quilts! And it's all from fabrics I was not likely to ever use. Just goes to show that every piece we collect will come in handy just when we need it. Rejoice that you have it at $1.99 and not $12.99 per yard. Your DH should be proud of you NOT angry!!! Besides, the more fabrics you have to choose from...the more creative you can be. Have fun!

Where is this Goodwill? You hit the jackpot! The Goodwill stores near me rarely have something so wonderful ... very little fabric, if any at all ... and that price is too good to be true. I envy you. Enjoy!!

First make him a quilt, then make another big beautiful one to sell and you will probably recoup all your money. When you really start using your stash you will be happy happy happy you got all those bargains.

Apparently your Goodwill is much better than our Goodwill. The only thing even close to fabric at ours is usually old worn out curtains that are labeled as fabric. We just have junk. That would be amazing to find that much good fabric for that price. I certainly wouldn't tell him about the quantity; might be too much for him to take.

Same with ours. I went in today to see what I could find. The short time I was there, I didn't find much. Couldn't look hard since DD decided to play hide and seek in the racks. Grrr, kids.

As for your husband, I would tell him that you got an AMAZING deal on some fabric at Goodwill and leave it at that.

I tell DH right away, but then I take him to the computer and show him that I'm selling on the QB the fabrics that I can live without, so I can keep the ones I love for free. That does make him happy - especially when I show him my sale, "see here's the last Paypal payment that reimburses me every dime. Now I can either keep the rest, because it's free or sell a bit more and get enough money to go back and do this again." He usually says "sell a little more, so you can go back again. That way he knows it won't cost him next time around either. Try it! It works! (And of course, we all win@!)

p.s. my Goodwill's around here never have any great finds like that.
