My 9 y.o. DGD is making a rag quilt with me. She's picked out all the fabrics from my stash, cut out the squares and has the sandwiches layered for our next session. I hope she's enjoying it as much as I am!!

Good for her!! And good for you, Grandma, for taking the time to teach her. She will enjoy sewing fora life time and think of her time with you when she's sewing! I love to see kids learning to sew. It's a life skill and a good one to have.

What fun for you and Emily!! My Emily is now almost 15 and I have taught her to sew, starting around age 8. Today I helped her adjust a swimsuit pattern that she wants to make tomorrow. The long pillow in the first picture is one Emily made for me when she was 6 or 7! She didn't know you had to turn it right side out, and it has a place of honor in my spare bedroom. The little striped one was made for me by her little sis, Hannah. The other picture is one of Emily and the first sewing project we made together-a purple tied quilt that she named and signed.
I think you are giving so much to your grands!! And she sure looks grand! N.

Thanks maryb and N. And thanks for sharing pictures of your GD's projects, N. And isn't it fun to know she still enjoys sewing?
