Default Grand Illusion- Bonnie Hunter question

Hi Everyone!
This was my first mystery with Bonnie and I love them. I almost completed the Grand Illusion and wondered why it was unfinished, in the closet...it is because my borders are about 2 1/2" too short.
Now what do I do?
I have measured the blocks...correct
4 patch...correct
Inner border correct...
Outer border...correct...
Why? Why? Why? and what to do to get this flimsy done!!!

I looked at the pattern:

and it looks like you could just add a set of 2 1/2" blocks to your boarder and it will turn out fine

I don't know why your border isn't coming out right -- did you do the full size quilt? I did a 4x4 instead of 5x5, and there was quite a bit of discussion about how to fudge the border if you were doing a different size. I stuck some extra neutral and yellow pieces in the middle of some of my units to make up the difference (if you look two units over on top and side you can see it).

I also had the same problem with my borders and it is still waiting for me to go back and finish it. I remember measuring everything and all was good but then the borders were just a bit short - frustrating. I will have to pull it out and take another look tomorrow.

Can you post a picture of it? Then we might have more ideas.

Do you have enough of the border fabric to just add a piece? Could you add cornerstones?

Occasionally the directions are wrong. Which is why I have learned to wait until the very last thing to actually cut my border pieces. Occasionally my sewing is wrong, too.

I am going to try and fudge it on one side and see if it works.
No corrections on the Quiltville site.
