    Dig it out!
    Air it out!
    And sew with it forever!

Does your Aunt have children? If she does she may be planning to give it to one of her children. But i would definitely keep after he, before something happens to her and someone else in the family gets it or an outsider does.

Go for it, start digging immediately, before someone else gets it or somehow it disappears in an estate sale or something. You can always buy some attachments, if there aren't any. The table to go with it would be a great asset to the machine for you.

You need to liberate that Featherweight, sometimes your family just needs a reminder that you are willing to put their belongings to good use and that they will be well taken care of and loved
