    Default machine questions

Let me try this again in a lighter tone. Can anyone give me positive feedback regarding their Pfaff 4.0 Creative Quilter machine? Mine is in for repair. It has been a long time. I am hoping for some positive ending stories of machines repaired and working as good as new. Encouragement needed here. I miss my machine!!

Sorry don't have that machine - hope you get yours back in good repair and can enjoy using it again.

I hit something with my Bernina 440 and totally screwed up the timing. It took the repair guy 2 times to get her sewing again but she is back purring like a kitten. It took about a month and I sweated every minute if it even though I had a back-up machine.

I just bought a Pfaff quilt expressions 4.0 new on Ebay. It is made in China. It is very similar to my Husky 875Q, except that it is much quieter. I also love the "fix" at the beginning of the sewing. It makes a tiny back and forth stitch. The 875Q did a lumpy knot which sometimes created a mess. I am getting used to it, just ordered the acrylic surround to fit in my sewing cabinet, and will try fmq when it gets delivered. The test sewing that I have done turned out excellent. The only issue is the feed dog drop switch, it lowers it, but to raise the feed dogs, I have to switch it back to up and turn the wheel towards me to engage the lift. The 10' throat is the same as the 875Q except that the height is over 1" greater which will make quilting a larger quilt easier. What was wrong with your pfaff?

seems like your need for (positive feedback, references) should be pointed more toward where it is being fixed- most machines-when serviced correctly by a 'reputable, qualified service tech' will come back sewing like new- it is the service person/place that you should be looking for references for- check their website & see what their customers are saying. ... good communication with your service tech is worth a lot!

the representative (quilt shop) where I bought it has been informative. A series of unfortunate timing has occurred. Needs more repair than they thought. A bobbin hook, bearings and shaft. It's been three months. I have my quilt nearly finished. The shop offered me a loaner. Had I known it would be this long I would have taken it. The shop is an hour away from my home. Loved the machine...... just worried regarding it's reliability now. Glad to hear nhweaver is pleased with her machine. My quilt is in my profile. Can't wait to finish it!!!
