The “grunge” line from Moda has some great grays that read like so,ids, but aren’t completely solid. I use them a lot.

How about a dark gray/white check? It would have some visual interest and camouflage potential.

I am pro gray. Its trendy and probably won’t be a lint catcher.

I recently put a solid Kona purple on the back of a baby quilt that had the same shade of purple in the print of the main fabric. It looks gorgeous until you set it on the floor where it becomes a first class lint catcher. I am sure the mom is already tired of keeping it lint free but she does use the quilt quite a bit according to my daughter.....the mom’s friend.
