WOW, aren't we lucky? Great find. Don't you just love auctions now? At an auction about a year ago, I bid on and purchased a 4 thread Baby Lock Serger for $17.

I grew up on a New Home which my mother bought new in 1951. I used it until the 70's when I bought another machine. I wish I still had my original one. I have bought an older New Home as a back up. We have a rental apt. and I have put that machine in there for their use. I did have a treadle New Home in the 90's, then sold that, after which her house burned to the ground, so it is now gone. But I do love a New Home, and yours looks quite nice. My main machine now is a Pfaff 7570, and my back up is a Brother CS6000i. Love them both. Margie

I too love auctions have gotten a Singer (it's in it's case & haven't had to use it but it's one of my back ups. Sent husband to an Estate sale and had him pick up a Janome Silver Gem for $25, love it so much it's now my piecing machine. My goal now is to have a Janome 6600P because the Gem sews so nicely.

Wow!!!! That is a find. You will love it and you can quilt without a walking foot if your presser foot is placed properly per the project. Get some good sewing machine oil and oil every day that you use it. Just a wee drop in designated places.
